Meet Jesus’ First Helpers – The Disciples
One day, Jesus walked by a lake. It was called the Sea of Galilee. He saw two brothers fishing. Their names were Peter and Andrew.
They were tossing their nets into the water. Jesus smiled and said, “Come, follow Me. I will make you fishers of people!”
They dropped their nets. They followed Jesus right away. No questions. No waiting.
Peter and Andrew Follow Jesus
Peter looked at Andrew. They both nodded and jumped out of the boat. Their hearts were full of hope. They wanted to help Jesus.
Jesus gave them a new job. Instead of catching fish, they would now help others know God.
Jesus Calls James and John
Jesus walked a little further. He saw more fishermen. They were James and John. They were in a boat with their dad.
Jesus called them too. And guess what? They followed Him right away! They left the boat and their father behind.
A New Team for a Big Mission
Jesus picked helpers with big hearts. They weren’t rich or famous. They were simple people who trusted God. And they helped change the world.
Do you ever help others? Would you say “yes” if Jesus called you?
Moral of the Story
Jesus calls people who are ready to listen and love. You don’t have to be perfect. Just be ready to say “yes” to helping and being kind.
