Elijah’s Big Challenge
Elijah was a prophet. That means he listened to God and told people what God said.
But the people had stopped listening. They prayed to a fake god named Baal.
So Elijah said, “Let’s have a contest. Let’s see whose God is real!”
The Prophets of Baal Go First
Elijah told the prophets of Baal to build an altar.
He said, “Ask Baal to send fire.”
They built their altar and started dancing.
They shouted. They jumped. They even cut themselves.
But nothing happened.

Elijah’s Turn
Then Elijah built his altar. He put wood and a bull on it.
Then he did something strange—he poured water all over it.
He prayed to God. “Please show them You are the true God.”
Suddenly—fire came from heaven!
It burned the wood, the bull, and even the stones and water!

The People See the Truth
The people were shocked.
They fell to the ground and said,
“The Lord is God! The Lord is God!”
They knew Baal was fake. They knew Elijah was right.
And they turned back to God that day.

What Can We Learn?
God always listens. He always answers at the right time.
Elijah trusted God—and God showed up.
Even when no one else believed, Elijah did.
Would you stand for God, like Elijah?

Elijah believed in Him. God answered with fire to show His power.
