Jesus Prays in the Garden
After the Last Supper, Jesus went to a quiet garden. It was called Gethsemane. He wanted to talk to God. He knew something sad was going to happen soon. His heart was heavy, but He still chose to pray.
Jesus asked His friends to stay awake and pray with Him. But they were tired and fell asleep. Jesus prayed alone. He said, “Father, not what I want, but what You want.”
Jesus Is Arrested
While it was still dark, a group of soldiers came into the garden. They brought torches and swords. With them was Judas, one of Jesus’ disciples. Judas showed the soldiers who Jesus was.
The soldiers grabbed Jesus. Some of His friends wanted to fight back, but Jesus stopped them. He let the soldiers take Him away. He knew this was part of God’s plan.

The Trial of Jesus
The soldiers took Jesus to the leaders of the temple. Many people there were angry. Some people told lies about Jesus. They said He did things He never did.
Jesus didn’t yell or argue. He stayed calm and quiet. He trusted God, even though the people were being unfair. The leaders decided to send Him to the Roman ruler, Pilate.

What This Teaches Us
Even when people were unkind, Jesus showed peace. He didn’t fight or run away. He knew His job was to bring love, not hate. And he was brave because He trusted God.
