The Day the Wind Stopped
One evening, Jesus and His friends got into a boat. They were going to the other side of a big lake. Jesus was tired from teaching, so He lay down and fell asleep. The boat rocked gently at first. But soon, dark clouds filled the sky.
The wind started to blow hard. Waves crashed into the boat. Water splashed everywhere. The disciples were scared. They thought the boat would sink.
The Disciples Wake Jesus
The storm got worse. The boat tossed up and down. The disciples didn’t know what to do. They rushed to Jesus and shouted, “Wake up! Don’t you care if we drown?”
Jesus opened His eyes. He stood up in the boat. He looked at the wind and the waves. And know what? he wasn’t scared at all.
Jesus Stops the Storm
Jesus looked at the waves.
HJesus raised His hand. He said, “Quiet! Be still!” Right away, the wind stopped. The waves calmed down. Everything became quiet and peaceful.
The disciples were amazed. They had never seen anything like this before. They looked at each other and said, “Even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
What This Teaches Us
Sometimes life feels stormy, like when you’re sad or scared. But Jesus is always near, even when it feels dark. He can bring peace to your heart. Just like He calmed the sea, He can calm your worries too.
