A Waiting Room Full of Friends
After Jesus went up to heaven, His friends stayed in the city, just like He said. They waited together in one big room. The doors were shut. The windows were still. Nobody really knew what to expect.
There were about 120 people gathered. They prayed. They sang. They remembered everything Jesus had taught them. They waited for the gift Jesus had promised—the Holy Spirit.
Wind! Fire! A Surprise from Heaven
Then, something amazing happened.
Suddenly, there was a loud sound like wind! Whoosh! It filled the room. But nothing moved. Then little flames appeared—tiny bits of fire—dancing above each person’s head. But no one was burned. No one was scared. In fact, they all felt brave and full of joy.
This was the Holy Spirit—God’s gift, just like Jesus promised.

New Words, New Courage
Everyone in the room started talking at once. But it wasn’t noise—it was a miracle! They were speaking in different languages—ones they had never learned before. But people outside could understand every word.
They rushed out into the streets. There were visitors from all over the world. And each person heard the good news about Jesus in their own language!

What This Teaches Us
That day, thousands of people heard about Jesus. Many believed and became His followers. That day became the birthday of the Church!
God didn’t leave His friends alone. He sent the Holy Spirit to live in them. And guess what? He sends the Spirit to us too!
Would you want God’s Spirit to help you be brave and kind?
