The Ascension – Jesus Goes Up to Heaven

Jesus promises to send the Holy Spirit

Jesus Meets His Friends One Last Time

Forty days after Jesus rose from the dead, He met His friends again. They went to a hill outside the city. Jesus had something special to tell them.

The disciples were happy to see Him. They still had questions, but Jesus smiled and reminded them of everything He had taught.

Jesus Gives a Big Promise

Jesus said, “Go tell the whole world about Me. Teach people to love God and love others.” He also said,

“I will be with you always.”

He told them to wait in the city, because the Holy Spirit would come to help them. This was His gift—a helper from heaven.

Jesus Goes Up to Heaven

Then something amazing happened. Jesus lifted His hands to bless them. As He spoke, He began to rise into the sky. He went up, up, up—until a cloud covered Him from their eyes.

The disciples stood quietly, looking up.

What This Teaches Us

Jesus didn’t just leave. He gave a promise. He is alive in heaven, and He is always with us. We can still talk to Him and share His love with the world.

Would you look up and wave if Jesus rose into the sky?

Moral of the Story

Jesus went to heaven, but He’s still with us.
He left a promise and a job—to share His love with the world.
