The Last Supper – Jesus Shares a Special Meal

Jesus and His disciples at the Last Supper table

Jesus Shares a Special Meal

It was almost time for a big festival called Passover. Jesus sat down with His twelve friends, the disciples. They gathered in a quiet room upstairs. This would be the last meal they shared together.

Jesus looked around the table. He loved His friends very much. He wanted to tell them something important before He left.

Jesus Breaks the Bread

Jesus took some bread and thanked God for it. Then He broke it into pieces. He gave some to each of His disciples. He said,

“This is my body, given for you. Eat it and remember me.”

The disciples were surprised. They didn’t understand it yet, but they listened closely.

Jesus Shares the Cup

Next, Jesus took a cup of wine. He passed it around to His friends. He said,

“This is my blood, poured out for you. When you drink it, remember me.”

Jesus was showing them how much He loved them. He knew hard days were coming, but He wanted them to stay strong and stay close to God.

What This Teaches Us

Jesus gave His friends a gift—a way to remember Him forever. We still do this in churches today. We eat bread and drink from the cup to remember how Jesus gave His life for us.

Would you want to sit at the table with Jesus?
