The Ant and the Grasshopper: Once upon a time, in a sunny meadow filled with buzzing bees and fluttering butterflies, there lived a hardworking little ant named Anthony. Anthony wasn’t the biggest ant, or the strongest, but boy, was he determined! Every day, from the first rays of sunshine to the soft glow of dusk, Anthony scurried about, his tiny legs carrying grains and seeds much bigger than himself. He’d haul them back to his cozy anthill, adding to the growing pile of food for the winter.
Now, in that same meadow lived a carefree grasshopper named George. George loved nothing more than singing his cheerful songs, hopping high in the long grass, and basking in the warm sunshine.
“Anthony, Anthony!” George would chuckle, watching the little ant bustling about, “Why all the hurry? Come, relax in the sun with me!”
“No time, no time,” Anthony would puff, wiping his brow, “Winter is coming! We must store up food.”
George would just shake his head, strumming a carefree tune on his tiny violin. “Winter? That’s ages away!” he’d sing. “Plenty of time for work later!”
All summer long, this went on. Anthony, forever working, and George, forever playing. The other ants worked as hard as Anthony, filling their tunnels with tasty treats. But George, well, George just sang and hopped and thought of nothing but the warm, sunny days.
Then, one chilly morning, Anthony woke to a very different world. The meadow was covered in a blanket of sparkly white snow and a frosty wind whistled through the grass. He peeked out his anthill door and saw George shivering, his violin tucked sadly under one arm.
“G-G-George?” Anthony called out, “What happened to all the warm summer days?”
“Gone,” George sighed, teeth chattering, “and I didn’t save a single bite of food!”
Anthony felt a pang of pity. “Come inside, George,” he said, “We’ve enough to share.” And so they did. George and all the ants huddled together, sharing their food and enjoying stories by the warmth of their little ant fire.
As they ate, George started to feel really bad. “Anthony,” he said quietly, “You were right. I was so busy having fun that I forgot how important it is to prepare.”
Anthony smiled, “It’s okay, George. Now you know. And next summer, maybe you can help me gather food, and we can sing together afterward!”
George’s eyes lit up. Now that sounded like a grand plan! And so, when summer came again, you could find Anthony and George side by side, working hard to fill the anthill. Though of course, come a sunny afternoon, you’d also hear the cheerful sound of George’s fiddle, reminding everyone that there’s a time for work and a time for play!

The moral of the story is that hard work always pays off in the end. We should not be lazy and enjoy life at the expense of our future. It’s essential to plan and work hard to achieve our goals and prepare for any challenges that may come our way.
