Jesus Enters the City Like a King
Jesus and His disciples were walking toward Jerusalem. He knew something big was about to happen. He told two of His friends, “Go into the village. You’ll find a donkey tied there. Bring it to me.”
The disciples went and found the donkey just like Jesus said. They brought it to Him and laid their coats on its back. Jesus got on the donkey and started riding into the city.
People Cheer and Praise
As Jesus rode into Jerusalem, a crowd began to gather. People were so happy to see Him. They remembered His miracles. Some had seen Him raise Lazarus from the dead!
The people took palm branches and waved them in the air. Others laid their cloaks on the road so the donkey could walk over them. Everyone was cheering.

Hosanna to the King!
The people shouted, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!” Hosanna means “save us!” They believed Jesus was the King sent by God.
Children waved palm branches with big smiles. Families praised God with loud voices. The whole city was excited. Some people asked, “Who is this?” And the crowd answered, “This is Jesus!”

What This Teaches Us
Jesus came as a kind and peaceful King. He didn’t ride a big horse or bring soldiers. He rode a little donkey to show love and peace. And he came to save people—not with power, but with His heart.
Would you wave a palm branch if you saw Jesus?
