Grandma’s Pancakes That Flew Away is a silly, funny bedtime story about breakfast that won’t stay on the plate. Kids love doing the cow’s “Moo?” and the goat’s jump.

Grandma’s Pancakes That Flew Away: Read the Story

Grandma Rose made the fluffiest pancakes in the whole town. One morning, she made them extra fluffy. She flipped the first one in the pan, and it flew up, up, up and stuck to the ceiling.

“Oh my,” said Grandma.

She flipped the second one. It flew out of the window. The third one floated away like a balloon, right over the garden fence.

“After those pancakes!” shouted Grandma, and she ran outside in her slippers, waving her frying pan.

The pancakes floated over the farm. A cow looked up and said “Moo?” A goat jumped and tried to bite one. The farmer’s dog barked and chased them in circles.

The pancakes floated over the school, where all the children ran to the windows and cheered. They floated over the park, where the ducks quacked with excitement.

At last, the pancakes got tired of floating. They drifted down, down, down, and landed softly in the arms of a little boy sitting on a bench. It was Grandma’s grandson, Jack.

“Grandma!” said Jack. “It’s raining pancakes!”

Grandma laughed so hard she had to sit down. They shared the pancakes on the bench, with a little syrup Grandma just happened to have in her pocket.

That night, Jack dreamed of pancakes floating across the sky like fluffy golden clouds. And in the morning, Grandma made them a little bit less fluffy, just to be safe.
